Tourist destinations

Athmanathaswamy Temple – This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its spectacular architecture of 10th century. The roof of the temple is made up of granite and it also has life size amazing sculptures. The mural paintings which are painted over the walls are also the attraction of this place that lure visitors a lot.

Chettinad Palace - Also known as Raja’s Palace, it was built up by Ramaswamy Chettiar. This palace was built in 10 years and the furnishing material was brought from Europe and East Asian countries. It has marvelous looking teak, marble and granite pillars visit tourist places in Karaikudi.

Kamban Mani Mandapam - This temple was built in the memory of great Tamil poet, Mahakavi Chakravarthy Kamban. It is one of the great tourist attractions here and a temple of Thamiz Thai is also located near Kamban Mani Mandapam.

Athangudi - Athangudi is a village in Chettinad which is worldwide famous for its Athangudi ceramic tiles. These tiles are made by using local soil and the color and patterns you find on these tiles are unique and amazing.

Pillaiyarpatti Lord Ganesha Temple - Pillaiyar Patti Lord Ganesha Temple is about 1600 years old and is devoted to Lord Ganesha. In this temple Lord Ganesha is presiding in “Valampuri” form.
