Periyar National Park

Stationed at the Idukki district of Kerala, Thekkady is one of the important tourist destinations in India. The man made Thekkady Lake with its partially submerged trucks became the synonym of Thekkady. Cashews, coffee powders, coffee beans, eucalyptus oil, many Ayurvedic oils for massages which cures the deficiency in human body. Well linked with both Kerala and Tamil Nadu through roadways, one can easily get a bus from Madurai, Kumbam, Kottayam, Ernakulam,Thiruvananthapuram and various other locations to reach Thekkady.

Thekkady is a paradise with its natural scenic beauty, clear waters and the serene atmosphere literally captivates the visitors. Government agencies such as TDC, KTDC and TTDC arrange package tours to Thekkady on regular basis. There are number of hotels and lodges located at Kumuli and Thekkady providing good accommodation facilities. Apart from this, the destination has various other opportunities for adventurous tourism such as trekking, wildlife train, bamboo rafting, border hiking and rock climbing. Unlike other wildlife sanctuaries, Thekkady is unique and abundantly rich with flora, fauna and a wide range of birds.
