Mudumalai National Park - Tamilnadu

Mudumalai is a forest region located in the southern portion of India on the northwest side of the Nilgiri Hills which means blue Mountains and very popular because of the Mudumalai National Park which was established back in 1940 on 60 square kilometers. Today, the park has expanded to include 321 square kilometers. Jeeps and Gypsies are the best option to travel around the forest tracks of the Nilgiri jungles.

They are cheap and can be hired on a daily basis. Many jeeps can be found around the city center of Ooty. was started with the intention to protect all of the amazing wildlife well known for tourist people getting firsthand experience of the exotic animals that live in the area. Mudumalai National Park is wild life sanctuary located in the Nilgiri Hills. The hills are known for its steep and curving hair pin bends which are difficult to negotiate. The gray languor and the bonnet macaque are two of the notable primates that can be seen in the Mudumalai area.

It is possible to see tigers, leopards, dholes, golden jackals, striped hyenas, sloth bears, and Asian elephants in this region as well. Many interesting birds are also native to this area, making bird watching a spectacular experience. In fact, numerous bird watchers flock to Mudumalai every year to see such fine bird specimens. The crested serpent eagle, the Malabar grey hornbill, the crested hawk, Malabar Trojan and the rare striped tit-babbler can all be seen frequenting this region. The crested hawk-eagle, the crested serpent eagle, the Malabar Trojan, and the Malabar grey hornbill all call this area home. You may also see a striped tit-babbler.
